Students from Goochland, Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, and a consortium of private schools learn performing arts design, technologies and problem-solving skills related to the creative development of theatrical, video and music productions as pathways to careers. Students learn from the design and production professionals of their arts partners—Richmond Ballet, Virginia Repertory Theatre and the Latin Ballet of Virginia. Students study scripts and view production meetings and rehearsals, in order to more fully understand the dynamics of a working production team, as well as how lighting, sets, costumes and sound truly bring a story to life on the stage. Students apply their learning to real-working performances staged by the arts partners.
